Ub from Serbia won another title on World Tour. This time they did that in the Philippines after an amazing performance throughout the whole tournament. Ub convincingly defeated all opponents and confirmed they are the team you should take seriously in the future.
12 teams were competing in the main draw. A negative surprise on the first day showed Antwerp. Belgium team finished third in their pool and with the worst point difference, they disappointed all their supporters. They simply again couldn’t justify the role of “dark horse”.
We had quarterfinals played on the second day and there were a couple of exciting matches that gave chills to spectators. Melbourne came from the qualification round to the quarterfinal and they attracted sympathy because of their warrior spirit. There were no special upsets in the quarterfinals except for the already mentioned Australian team. They won 21-17 against Mongolian Ulaanbaatar.
Melbourne couldn’t get all the way because the Ub was too strong. Strahinja Stojacic aka Dr. Strange and company were prepared mentally and psychically and they crashed them, 21-10. In another semifinal, Liman from Serbia destroyed Mongolian Sansaar, 21-11.
The final game was between compatriots and Serbian giants Ub and Liman. Both teams could put their hope in the biggest stars but the team was actually who won the game. Liman kept the game balanced in the first couple of minutes but then team spirit and quality were shown out. Ub put it in another gear and comfortably finished the game and lifted another trophy.
Marko Brankovic scored the highest number of points in the final game – 9. Right behind him was Majstorovic aka Maestro.
Dejan Majstorovic was the Mvp of the competition and scored 33 points in total. The best scorer of the tournament was Stefan Kojic from Liman with 34 points.
We will have a longer break until the next master. It will be held in Prague in the Czech Republic on July, 30.
