Super quest tournaments are qualifying competitions for the Masters. One of those tournaments was played in Neom city last weekend. Many great players were participating and gave their best performances in the trophy hunt. Eventually, the Latvian team Riga won the Neom Super Quest 2022. Let’s go through the competition briefly.
The group stage games were played on November 4.
Riga and Warsaw qualified from pool A to the elimination stage.
Antwerp and NY Harlem proceeded to the next round from group B.
Paris and Vienna were the first-placed and second-placed teams in pool C.
Ulaanbaatar and Jeddah earned tickets for the quarterfinals in group D.
Quarterfinals, semifinals, and final games were scheduled for November 5.
In the first quarterfinal, Riga won against Vienna with 21-15. Ulaanbaatar beat NY Harlem with 21-20. Antwerp pulled out a 21-15 victory over Jeddah. Warsaw defeated Paris with 20-19.
The semifinals were exciting for the audience. Riga beat Ulaanbaatar with 21-20. Antwerp won against Warsaw with 16-10.
Riga defeated Antwerp in the final game with 21-17.
The final game was including Antwerp and Riga. The Latvian team started strong and gained a 7-2 advantage. However, Antwerp bounced back and kept the game thrilling until the end. Finally, Nauris Miezis scored a two-point shot and secured victory and a trophy for Riga. At the same time, Nauris got the MVP Award.

After the comeback of Karlis Lasmanis from Big3, Riga seems very convincing on the court and has 20 wins in a row. Antwerp showed they are capable of keeping their form consistent. The Belgian team got a new star who will, for sure, shine brighter in the future – Dennis Donkor.
Riga and third-placed Ulaanbaatar qualified with this title for the Hong Kong Masters and joined Antwerp who has already got a ticket for this tournament.
Other members of Hong Kong Masters which will be held on November 26-27 are Ub, Liman, Warsaw, Beijing, and Kaoshiung.
