Ub Huishan NE won the World Tour opener

This season World Tour is the 11th edition of this globally known 3×3 basketball event. World Tour 2022 consists of unbelievable 13 events organized all around the world. It showed high quality in the past couple of years and very skilled teams were playing their best games exactly on this tour.

This opener in Utsunomiya was special because the ten best-ranked teams were invited and the prize fund was the highest in history – 152000 American dollars. Serbians were too inspired and they took home 50000 American dollars as they won the tournament.

In the very first game of tournament in Japan, the American club Princeton shocked maybe the main favorite Ub from Serbia. Ub was missing many open shots that game and that caused an unexpected loss, 21-17.

Amsterdam had very good potential and they reached the semifinal where they lost to one already mentioned Princeton, 21-18. On the other side, Ub comfortably won the game against one of the biggest contenders Antwerp from Belgium. The most promising player in the world Thibaut Vervoort couldn’t do anything in that game. The result was 21-17 in favor of the Serbian side.

The final game was completely different than the opening one. Up, led by Strahinja Stojacic, was controlling the match from the first moment and the win was never in doubt. The American side was nervous and started making a lot of turnovers. They achieved to come closer to Serbia, but then Stojacic scored behind the arc and with two points brought the Serbian club first place in this tournament. I

t looked like the American guys were more exhausted from previous clashes and that they had reached the maximum of their abilities. It is important to mention that Strahinja Stojacic, aka Dr.Strange, won another award for being the most valuable player in the competition. He gave his best game in the final scoring 13 points.

Captain of the winning team Dejan Majstorovic, aka The Maestro, is continuing his winning streak in this Japanese City because he won trophy 4 times out of 5 organized events in Utsunomiya.

The next station of this 2022 World Tour is Manilla in Phillippines from May 28 to May 29 and it will be the second event of this season’s World Tour.
