We have all been waiting in an impatient manner FIBA world tour to start in 2022. The standards of this competition are very high after an unbelievable last season where Liman won the competition. The 11th season of the World Tour is consisting of 13 events where the first station this weekend is the Japanese city of Utsunomiya and the final tournament will be held in Abu Dhabi in December. There will be 12 teams divided into four groups consisting of 3 teams. Each team will play each other once on Saturday, May 14th. Two best-ranked teams in each group will progress to the quarterfinal which will be played on Sunday, May 15th. The semifinal and final games will also be played on Sunday. All fixtures will take place in the afternoon in Japanese time. This event includes shoot-out and dunk contests.
The biggest stars of this sport are expected to shine again and the first station in this season is the Japanese city of Utsunomiya. This year’s competition is interesting because there is no one or two clear favorites to claim the win. Club Ub, currently 1st ranked team in the world, is now pretending for the title with powerful duo Dejan Majstorovic and Strahinja Stojacic. Belgium team Antwerp showed a lot of potential in previous seasons and they are serious contenders for first place here. Liman is missing their best player for last season Stefan Stojacic, but they are very strong as they got a substitute in very fast Nebojsa Kilijan. Those three teams are having biggest chances for the title according to 3×3 basketball experts. There are many “black horses” and we may see shocking upsets in this tournament.
