Penang Challenger is set to go

Malaysia will be the next station for the best 3×3 clubs across the world. City Eaubonne in France was the previous Challenger and it was entertaining for supporters. Sakiai won that tournament and now the time has come for another challenge for excellent players of this beautiful sport. Here is a brief insight into what you can expect in Penang Challenger.

A qualification competition for two tickets to the main tournament will be held on September 10, 2022. Six teams will be divided into two groups with three teams. ZaisanPirot, and Utsonomiya are in group A.  SaitamaPenang, and Lusail are competing in group B. The best team from each pool moves on to the main competition.

The pool games are set to be played on Saturday. As usual, there are going to be four pools with three teams. The best two teams in ranking in every group will proceed to the quarterfinals.

LimanCebu, and Zavkhan are members of group A

UlaanbaatarNY Harlem, and Paris will compete in pool B

PrincetonSansar, and a qualifier from qualifying group A will battle for quarterfinals in group C

LausannePartizan, and a qualifier from qualifying group B are participating in pool D.

Quarterfinals, semifinals, and final games are scheduled for September 11, 2022.

According to experts, Liman from Novi Sad has the best chance to clinch the trophy in Malaysia.

The Serbian team has had an interesting season where they have won all four Challengers they have attended. Liman did not have any particular success in World Tour 2022 and Masters, though. Aleksandar Ratkov and Stefan Kojic are a powerful duo and they in the form are an insurmountable obstacle for every opponent.

Ulaanbaatar is seed No. 2 in this tournament and big things are expected from them. Their new coach-player Steve Sir guarantees a promising future for this Mongolian team.

Finally, a couple of words about Princeton. They have been in crisis when we are talking about winning in big tournaments. Kareem Madox, Princeton’s main star, is big hope that the drought can be ended.
