We have witnessed beautiful 3×3 basketball in the Europe Cup for players who are under 17 years old. The tournament took place in Athens, Greece.
It was a great competition between many countries from Europe. This sport provided spectators with everything possible and they could go home happy and enthusiastic.
Germany’s men’s squad became the champions of Europe and France won the title in the women’s part of the draw.
In the men’s part of the draw, Lithuania and Estonia progressed to the quarterfinal from pool A.
Germany and Israel qualified from group B to the final 8.
France and Latvia were first-placed and second-placed teams in group C.
Ukraine and Turkey got tickets for the elimination stage from pool D.
Israel beat Ukraine with 18-9 in the first quarterfinal. Latvia pulled out a 19-17 victory over Lithuania in a Baltic clash. Germany won against Turkey with 16-11. France defeated Estonia with 14-12 in the last quarterfinal.
Latvia won against Israel with 21-16 in the first semifinal. Germany beat France with 21-16.
Germany defeated Latvia with 21-20 in the final game. France pulled out a 21-14 victory over Israel in the game for the bronze medal. You can watch full final game here:
In the women’s part of the competition, it was nothing less interesting.
Germany and Slovenia got cards for the quarterfinals from group A.
Sweden and Netherland were members of pool B who qualified for the elimination stage.
Spain and Poland qualified in pool C for the final 8.
France and the Czech Republic were first-placed and second-placed teams from group D and progressed through the group phase.
Poland beat Slovenia with 14-11 in the first of four quarterfinals. France won against Sweden with 15-13. Spain pulled out a 20-11 victory over Germany. Netherland defeated the Czech Republic with 17-10.
France defeated Poland in the first semifinal with 17-15. Spain beat Netherland with the same result.
France pulled out a 13-12 victory over Spain in a thrilling final. Poland beat Netherland with 12-11 in the game for third place. You can see full final game here:
Fabian Giessmann was the MVP of the men’s tournament, while Lou Bobst was the best player in the women’s competition.
