After Debrecen Masters, another Masters in the World Tour 2022 is knocking on the door. Montreal Masters is going to be held next weekend in Canada. Five of the top ten teams in the team’s ranking will take part in this big tournament.
Great names will perform there and spectators can expect huge excitement and beautiful points. So let’s preview briefly this competition.
Twelve teams will participate in the main draw in Masters in Montreal. There will be four groups of three teams. One participant of group D will be decided in qualifications on Saturday between Old Montreal, Gatineau, and Sau Paulo DC.
September 3rd will be a day for games in group stages also.
It is scheduled to be 12 fixtures in Pools A, B, C, and D. Two best teams in each pool will go to the quarterfinals. Many teams are contenders for the title in Canada, so let’ ‘s see who the biggest favorites in each group are.
Riga, Omaha 3Ball, and Lublin Lotto are members of group A.
Sakiai, San Juan, and Winnipeg will participate in pool B.
Princeton, Chicago, and Beijing will compete in group C.
Ulaanbaatar, Vienna, and a team from the qualifications tournament will fight for a place in the quarterfinal in pool D.
Quarterfinals, semifinals, and final game are set to be played on September 4, 2022.
Riga is the seed No. 1 seed, especially if we know the fact that Karlis Lasmanis is returning to their squad. The Lathian team will be strengthened a lot with the comeback of the Olympic hero. Along with his teammate Nauris Miezis, he will try to compensate for missed in the previous period.
Riga lost the final in the Challenger in Quebec against Omaha 3Ball. Omaha 3Ball is again facing them after the first title in major tournaments. Malik Hluchoweckyj and Dylan Travis are a powerful duo in the American team and they are representing a danger to any team.
Lublin Lotto will try to make surprise as underdog.
Sakiai will be the second favorite of the tournament. This team has a deadly duo in Marcius Uzupis and Aurelijus Pukelis. They started meeting the expectations of their supporters as the first place in Eaubonne Challenger is won.
San Juan, the Puerto Rican team, is the biggest obstacle for Lithuanians for the first place in the group. They are having oscillations in their performances and are led by shooting guard Angel Matias.
Winnipeg is lurking around the corner and waiting for their chance for making an upset.
Princeton is the third biggest contender for the title in Montreal. The American team is facing a long three-year drought and they are without a title on the World Tour. This is a big opportunity for them. KarAntwerp was beaten on previous Masters in Debrecen in the first round and their star Isaiah Wilkerson is promising big things.
Chicago, their compatriots, is battling with them for first place. This team from Illinois is led by Zahir Carrington and Kareem Maddox.
Beijing is seed no. 11 and making a debut performance in this tournament. The return of Marko Savic, a famous 3×3 basketball player, to their squad will make things even hotter.
Ulaanbaatar is a big favorite in group D and is seed no. 4. Mongolian team was a member of three quarterfinals on Masters this season. Steve Sir is going to try to lead this team to a title.
Vienna is in big form as they have been in four Challenger finals. The Austrian team didn’t participate in Masters after Utsunomiya Masters, the first Masters in World Tour. Filip Kramer is one of the two main stars in Vienna and has a duty to stop Ulaanbaatar in pool D.
