Lithuania won the sixth stop in the men’s competition in the East Conference of this season’s Nations League. The Sixth stop took place on July 26-28 in the Lithuanian city Kaunas. They got their ticket for the Nations League Final in Constanta, Romania which will be held on September 14-16.
The winner of the sixth stop also won the first and second stop. Lithuania returned to the winning lane after suffering disappointments in the third, fourth, and fifth stops. This squad was missing Justin Ramanauskas in those tournaments, but they regrouped for competition at their “home”.
Lithuania won against Estonia in the final game of the tournament with 19-12. Estonia shockingly lifted the trophy on the previously held stop stunning exactly Lithuania. Rokas Maciulis, the young hope of the Lithuanian squad, proved that fans were right when they said their country could rely on him.
In the women’s competition, we saw the same outcome as Lithuania won the title. Lithuania beat Poland in the thrilling final with 17-16. Lithuanian squad finished the previous two stops with empty hands, but they redeemed themselves thanks to the brilliant performances of Egle Zabotkaite.
In the men’s tournament, Lithuania is leading the standings with 520 points. Ukraine is second with 430 points, and right behind them is Poland with 420 points.
Lithuania is a leader in a women’s tournament standing with 550 points. Poland is having 480 points in second place, and Latvia is third-placed with 440 points.
Males and females from Lithuania joined Japan’s men, China’s women, Rwanda’s men, Kenya’s women, Czech Republic U21’s men, Mongolia U21’s men, and Japan U21’s women who have qualified already for the Nations League final.
Nations League continued on August 2-4 in Szolnok, Hungary, in stops 4-6 of the European Central Conference.
