Rice Jr. began his college basketball days on the bench, but represented the Georgia Tech college team in every game except one. Best Glen’s performance of the 2009/2010 season came in a fixture against Clemson where he scored 17 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, and made 4 assists.
In a sophomore season, the former high school star produced six fixtures with 20 or more points on his account. After his third suspension in his college career due to a non-court issue, Georgia’s coach dismissed him from the roster and forced the talented player to look for a new environment where he would play.
How did Glen’s professional basketball road begin?
Following a relatively successful high school and collegian career, Rice Jr. was picked up by the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the 4th round of the NBA Development league draft. Career-best performance in that moment by Rice Jr. turned out to be in a fixture against Springfield Armor when the son of Glen Rice Sr. scored 35 points and grabbed 15 rebounds.
Eventually, the former Georgia player deserved completely to be named to the NBA D-League All-Rookie second team averaging 13 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.

Following the breakthrough Glen made in the NBA Development League, this shooting guard attracted the attention of big NBA clubs.
The player was picked with the 35th overall pick first by Philadelphia, but was transferred immediately to Washington. The first NBA start Rice Jr. recorded in December in a fixture against Denver ending the game with 7 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals.
The coach Randy Wittman gave back then the 23-year-old 9.9 minutes per game in which he averaged 2.9 points.
How successful was the next season for Glen Rice Jr. in NBA?

After short stints in Central America with Puerto Rican Caciques de Humacao and Mexican Aguacateros de Michoacan, Glen decided to experience South American soil.
Being part of the Mexican team was a good period for this shooting guard as he averaged 24.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. Rice Jr. agreed with team Instituto from Cordoba to represent the Argentinian team in 2019.
Following five played games for Instituto and his ejection from the game due to double technical fouls in less than three minutes, the former Washington star ended collaboration with the Argentinian club.
What happened with Glen after?
The son of a three-time NBA All-Star tried his luck in Oceania at the end of 2019. Putting signature on a contract with New Zealand Breakers. Glen Rice Jr. was brought to a New Zealand team as a substitution for injured Scotty Thompson.
After only two appearances in Breaker’s shirt, the ex-Wizard’s small forward was accused of making incidents in Auckland bar. Return to New Zealand Breaker’s roster was short-term as the problematic guy was again arrested due to breaching bail conditions.
The individual statistics of 25 points per game throughout three fixtures in their shirt was not enough for avoiding the termination of the contract.
What occurred with Rice Jr. after the New Zealand experience?
A small stop in Saudi Arabian team Al-Fateh after parting ways with New Zealand Breakers was followed by signing a contract with Lithuanian team Juventus Utena on August 2020. The problems with Glen Rice Jr. started to appear despite scoring 10 points and making 4 assists in his debut performance in a friendly game against Zalgiris.
Violations of the club’s rules, arguing with coaches, and coming to the training drunk were reasons why Juventus ended the deal with the 29-old player. Problematic behavior was the biggest flaw in the personality of this player on and off the court.
What did Glen Rice Jr. achieve in the Big3 league?
After disappointments in his international career, Glen was picked by the team Power and coach Nancy Liebermann as a first overall pick in the Big3 Draft 2022. Along with TJ Cline, he was supposed to strengthen the roster in which already were involved Royce White, Cuttino Mobley, and Nikoloz Tskitishvili.
The Power was better and better as the fifth season went on, so the playoff of the four best teams was supposed to be the culmination of their form.
The Three Headed Monsters were beaten in the semi with a fantastic display by Glen who scored 26 points, including the game-winning shot. The Trilogy pulled out a victory over Power in the championship game leaving Rice Jr. without the trophy, despite the hero of our story leading his team with 23 points and 12 rebounds.

Glen Rice Jr. got the Rookie of the Year Award for 2022, averaging 17.5 points per game, 6.3 rebounds per game, and 3.3 assists per game his three-point shooting abilities were revealed during this season.
Glen Rice Jr.’s father won both the NCAA championship and NBA league throughout his collegiate and professional career. Only one NBA team and one year of experience in Ice Cube’s and Jeff Quatinetz’s project were not enough for Glen Rice Jr. to leave a bigger mark in American basketball and 3×3 circles.
