As we said before, the regular season of the fifth season in Fireball is over. It’s time to see who is best in certain categories. This time, we are going to focus on one of the most important segments of play – assists.
The leader in this category was no other than Dusan Bulut, Serbian basketball 3×3 star.
Teams who build their game plan on team spirit and a lot of moving of players logically have a high number of assists. Slavic basketball school is famous because of a lot of passing.
European Aliens are one of those teams this season in Big3. Tomislav Ivosev and Dusan Bulut, Serbian guys, came to Aliens this summer. Karlis Lasmanis, Olympic champion, joined them soon after.
Bulut aka BulutProof made 36 assists and beat the record of Brasilian Leandro Barbosa who had 34 successful passing. It is important to point out that Leandro had one more game played.
Dusan averaged 5.1 assists in the 2022 Big3 season. Franklin Nitty Session has currently 34 and until the rest season will have a contest with a Serbian player for the title of best assists player of the whole season.
Let’s not forget that BulutProof had an excellent collaboration with his teammate Deshawn Stephens and their understanding of each other thinking has improved a lot recently. Bulut added to that 13.7 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.
His ability to create a game and make crucial passes was expressed completely in this season. Aliens qualified for the Final Four and they will compete with three other teams for the title of champion.
Bulutproof stated that he needed to change his habits in play during his time in a new team. In his former club, Dusan Bulut had a more offensive role and his adaptability to new tactics and systems happened very fast.
