The first day of the planetary championship exceeded the spectator’s expectations. Organization and attendance were at a high level. We saw games in pool A and pool D in men’s and women’s categories.
There were 20 games played on Tuesday in Antwerp, 10 in each category. Teams played two games in one day. So lets’ begin.
Serbia came to the court first in the men’s competition with New Zealand as an opponent. In the end, experience and cold head of Serbians prevailed. Serbia beat New Zealand with 21-19.

Serbia won against Puerto Rico with 21-19. It was another thrilling game where Serbian guys came out as winners.
Usa beat Austria with 21-17. A tight game was played until Usa’s player Kidani Brutus scored two points in a row and secured the win for Usa.

In next game, Usa played against Slovenia and won with 21-9. The performances of Dominique Jones and Khalil Iverson contributed to an easy victory in USA’s second game.
Belgium beat Slovenia with 21-16. Thibaut Vervoort, the sixth-ranked player in the world, showed real class in that clash scoring amazing 13 points. In next match Belgium defeated Egypt with 21-12. Thibaut Vervoort had 5 points on account in that game and he was the best scorer of all players on the first day with 18 points.
In the women’s part of the draw, Lithuania beat Japan with 21-14. Kamile Nacickaite, the Lithuanian player, was brilliant as she scored 18 points and she is currently leading the scoring chart.

Lithuania stunned Germany with a 18-16 win . Germany gave hard time to Lithuania, but Kamile scored confidently two points for the win.
Germany beat Romania with 16-14. China is, according to predictions, the third favorite to claim the title here in Belgium. China defeated Romania with 21-12.
Finally, exciting group A in the lady’s competition provided an Asian clash between Japan and China and we witnessed a surprising result. Japan beat China with 17-14.
