Big3 Big3 Teams Reviews Teams

Bivouac, Big3 team with a huge perspective

Fireball has produced many fascinating stories and enabled spectators to see scenes that will never be forgotten in their heads. Ice Cube and Jeff Kwatinetz made their idea a reality and teams started competing in the league with new rules.

League had different regulations than the ones which are in FIBA competitions. Little by little, Big3 has evolved in eyes of fans and attractiveness came to another level.

One team that contributed a lot to the good reputation of Big3 is Bivouac. It was an amazing experience to watch this team during the previous three seasons.

How did the story of Bivouac begin?

Bivouac started Big3 adventure in 2019. They were created that year and started competing in Fireball.

Josh Smith was named as captain of that roster. Josh represented Atlanta Hawks, Detroit Pistons, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, and New Orleans Pelicans. Smith plays in a power forward and small forward position.

Will Bynum became co-captain of Bivouac and it is important to mention that he spent the majority of his career in Detroit. Will was shortly a player of Washington. This player performs in a point guard position.

Anthony Morrow got the role of second co-captain. Anthony is a shooting guard and he played for New Jersey Nets, Golden State Warriors, Atlanta Hawks, New Orleans Pelicans, Dallas Mavericks, etc.

Which players were chosen during the 2019 Draft Pool?

Shawne Williams was picked in the first round of the 2019 Draft Pool. Shawne was playing in Indiana Pacers, Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks, etc. Williams was playing in small forward position and power forward position.

CJ Leslie was chosen in the second round of that draft. Leslie represented some international teams in Puerto Rico, Cyprus, etc. Leslie performs in the power forward position. It was expected of him to strengthen the squad hugely.

Bivouac brought Dion Glover as the third pick that summer. Glover is a shooting guard who represented Toronto Raptors and Atlanta Hawks in the NBA league. Dion went overseas to perform for Turkish, Lebanese, and Israeli clubs.

How was the result of Bivouac in the 2019 season?

Bivouac ended the regular season with 4 wins and 4 defeats. It was enough for sixth place in the Big3 standings. They didn’t participate in the Final Four contest and it was a little disappointing experience for them in the debut season.

It was a lecture for another season. The only consolation for Bivouac was getting an individual award for Too Hard to Guard player. Will Bynum, the Bivouac player, received the accolade.

What did the roster of Bivouac in the 2021 season look like?

Bivouac chose Alonzo Gee from the first round of Draft Pool 2021.

Alonzo is a shooting guard and small forward and he represented Washington Wizards, San Antonio Spurs, Cleveland Cavaliers, Denver Nuggets, Portland Trail Blazers, and New Orleans Pelicans in the most prestigious national basketball league in the world.

Julian Wright was picked no.2 for Bivouac in the summer of 2021. Wright is a power forward and center. Julian performed for New Orleans Hornets and Toronto Raptors. This player tried to play overseas during his 5×5 basketball career.

Marreese Speights joined the squad in 2020. Speights was playing 5×5 basketball in center and power forward positions. Marreese wore the shirt of Philadelphia, Memphis, Cleveland, Golden State, Los Angeles, and Orlando.

How successful was Bivouac in their second season in Fireball?

This team finished the regular part of the season with zero victories and six losses. Bivouac had devastating results and the feelings in the locker room were sad.

They didn’t qualify for the Best Four contest, of course. Things didn’t click at all inside the roster and changes were necessary ahead of the new season.

Which players joined the team ahead of the 2022 season?

Bivouac got new valuable strengthening ahead of the fifth season of Fireball – Gerald Green. Gerald, shooting guard and small forward, wore a shirt of the Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics, Houston Rockets, etc. It was expected Green to be big reinforcement to the squad.

You can see here best moves from Gerald Green in 2022 season:

Ike Diogu, power forward or center, joined this team before the start of the 2022 season. Ike, a Nigerian-American basketball player, gained solid experience from playing in NBA. Diogu represented Golden State Warriors, Indiana Pacers, Portland Trail Blazers, Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Clippers, and many other clubs.

Who were the new signings of Bivouac from the 2022 draft?

Jeff Ayres was chosen as the first pick from the 2022 Summer Draft. Ayres is a power forward and center who had a significant NBA career. His clubs in the most popular national basketball league in the world were Portland Trail Blazers, Indiana Pacers, San Antonio Spurs, and Los Angeles Clippers.

Corey Brewer was brought from the second round of the 2022 Draft Pool. His NBA journey lasted 13 years. Corey performed for many famous teams like Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Houston Rockets.

What happened in the Bivouac roster in the middle of the season?

Corey Brewer got the co-captain role ahead of the third round in the 2022 season. Garlon Green, Gerald Green’s brother, was appointed as a new member of the squad in the middle of the season. Ike Diogu left the roster, so we witnessed big changes in Bivouac in 2022.

What is the style of play of Garlon Green?

Garlon is 31 years old and he is the younger brother of Gerald Green. Younger Green played in the European league, Japanese, and Australian leagues. He won the Dunk Contest in the German league. Garlon Green brings a lot of strength and aggressiveness into play. This player has the skills to hit shots from different positions on the court.

Which place did Bivouac take in the 2022 Big3 standings?

Bivouac ended the regular part of the season with two wins and four losses. It was sufficient for 10th place in the Big3 standings. This team didn’t get a ticket for the playoff and a chance to compete with the best teams for the title in Fireball.

The team’s results didn’t meet the expectations of their supporters, of course. Big investments were not fruitful in the fifth edition of Fireball. It was time for the board and players to sit to negotiate new strategies and styles of playing.

Who is the current coach of Bivouac?

Gary Payton is the current coach of team Bivouac. This legendary ex-NBA player represented Seattle, Milwaukee, Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, and Miami Heat in the position of a point guard. Gary is known as a very tempered personality and he is always ready to say what is in his thoughts.

Payton is respected among practically every basketball worker in the USA and wider. His dedication and commitment are appreciated and every player wants to be coached by him. Gary’s flaw is trash-talking which can distract players from what they have to do on the court.

Bivouac didn’t lift the trophy in the most prestigious 3×3 national league in the world. Three years long history of this team was not enough to achieve something like that. Board of the Bivouac tried different players to accomplish their dreams. Many rosters had a combination of immature and experienced players. Coaches were changing during their history.

Philosophies of play were different in past. It didn’t work out for now and the search for the best possible tactic is still present. We are sure that the cause of non-achievement will be found in near future. The persistence of everybody involved in Bivouac is evident and there is no reason why it wouldn’t pay off in the end.
